Apple Valley Town Manager Doubles Down on "All Is Good" at Apple Valley
At the Apple Valley City Council meeting held on February 14, 2023, the Apple Valley Town Manager Doug Robertson sparked RAGE from animal advocates. Doug responded to approximately 15 concerned speakers claiming "all is good" at the facility he oversees. He also talked about increasing contracts and staff so they can even kill MORE animals. We talked to staff administration that explained they are bringing in more staff members NOT to care for the animals but rather so that they can kill more animals. This is NOT a joke. They are wanting to increase contracts all over Southern California and to do this they want to have additional staff to assist in killing as many as they can so they can increase and handle more contracts. We have all that on a recorded phone call.
Town Manager Doug Robertson responded to all the outcries in two ways. First, he told one speaker who was an area football coach and teacher to take any stray animals to other animal shelters if he wants the stray animal to live. One audience member was so horrified by his comments, she walked out during his monologue. The Doug rambles about how they find nothing wrong with the high kill numbers and the lack of transparency. He goes as far as to say that he talked to the staff earlier in the week and told them what a great job they are doing.
If anything we've learned about the City of Apple Valley is that the corruption runs deep. Thank the Lord we are only beginning this discussion and specific action to bring change to Apple Valley, the best is yet to come. Promise you that.
